1.NetDrive Getting Started
After installing NetDrive you will notice a NetDrive tray icon located in your Windows tray. Right-clicking this tray icon displays the NetDrive tray menu.
Most of your time will be spent in the Site Manager, where you can create, modify, or delete sites. To launch the Site Manager, double-click NETDRIVE.EXE or located in Program Files > NetDrive, or right-click the tray icon and click Open NetDrive.
Once NetDrive has successfully connected to the server and a drive has been mapped, a monitor dialog appears. The Monitor dialog provides connection status, file transfer statistics, and a connection log. This feature can be disabled via the General tab on the Settings dialog box. After connecting, Windows* Explorer is automatically launched (this feature can also be disabled). The drive that you mapped should appear in Windows Explorer.
To disconnect from the Web server, click the Disconnect button in explorer or right-click the drive letter in Explorer and click Disconnect.
NOTE: Since a connection can be interrupted in the middle of a file transfer, you should always keep a backup copy of files that are transferred or modified on your Web server. You can also use the NetDrive mirror feature to mirror files that are modified into a separate folder on your computer. 2.Site Manager
The Site Manager dialog box is used to create, modify, or delete sites. Click the Advanced button to configure advanced properties for each site. The Advanced dialog box is different depending upon the whether your server is using FTP, WebDAV, or iFolder.
If you want to set specific NetDrive settings, like file caching and mirroring, then in the Site Manager click File > Program Settings.
Site Address/URL Enter the URL for the site you want to connect to.
Server Type When you add a site, if you omit the FTP or HTTP, the server type defaults to FTP. If you specify HTTP, the server type defaults to WebDAV. For Windows* NT*/2000, you can add HTTPS to the beginning of the URL to enable SSL encryption.
To override the port for HTTP servers, you can add it to the end of the URL. For example, http://www.someserver.com:8888 specifies a port of 8888.
Connect at Login/Startup If you select this option, the selected site is static, that is, when you log in, the drive automatically connects to the server.
Add to Tray Connect Menu The tray connect menu has a Quick Connect pop-up menu that can be used to quickly connect to your favorite sites. Enabling this adsd the site to the Tray Connect menu.
Anonymous/Public Logon For FTP Web servers, this enables anonymous login. For HTTP Web servers, it just omits the username/password information. 3.Creating a New Site
The Add New Site dialog box lets you create a new site. Enter a name for the site, and then enter the URL. The URL can be entered with or without the FTP or HTTP notation. If you specify HTTP, the server type defaults to WebDAV; otherwise it defaults to FTP.
NOTE: Secure SSL connections are only available via WebDAV on Windows* NT*/2000 workstations. To enable SSL, add HTTPS to the beginning of the URL.
